Bone Deep by Bonnie Dee had a couple of things going for it that drew me to the story 1) the post-WWII period and 2) featured a tortured hero. Unfortunately, the author didn’t quite pull this story off for me for several reasons which shall be discussed later.

Dennis Lehane's next published novel is a major publishing event. It's been 4 years since Lehane's last book, Shutter Island. On Dennis Lehane's website, there's more info about The Given Day that you can read there.
This is a historical novel. A historical epic that is somewhat of a departure for Lehane. The release date for The Given Day is Sept. 23. Look for a review.
