Well, I am not surprised that there might be *two* more Jamie and Claire books. Le sigh. Will we ever see the end of this series? Do we want to? Moving on—-there will be at least two new full length novels featuring Lord John Grey and a couple of novella’s. The two novella’s that I’ve enjoyed are Lord John and the Succubus (featured in Legends II Anthology) and Lord John and Hellfire Club (featured in Past Poisons anthology).

I personally feel that this series really ended with Voyager and that’s where I stopped. Alas, I can’t fault many fans who love this series and can’t get enough of Jamie and Claire but some fans truly feel that they will be dead and gone before this series ever ends.

DG has said that that will be the very last question that will be answered in the last book!! Have to wait awhile for that!

Yeah, un-huh, that’s what I thought.

Also:

Marg! Thanks for the info!

You like exclamation points, don’t you! (teasing you, of course!)

What’s connection with Jamie and the ghost? That’s the only burning question I had. Marg? Everybody knew that ghost was Jamie but how was it connected to the story, is the big question.

In some ways, a lot of stuff was tied up with the last book, but it was always not going to be the last one.

One of my best buds *loves* Jamie and Claire but she mentioned how they felt like her family and since she was an only child with a mentally ill father and an absent mother I can see how people can get attached.

I went to a book signing with her for the last book and she mentioned how she figured that Snow book would be the last. She didn’t read it until months later and I asked her just recently if she thought it was over. She nodded and said, yeah. Can’t see there being anything else unless I have to be there when they die.

I know myself well enough that following characters through decades into death would destroy me — all the same, I have promised her I will read these books. I just need to find a chunk of time big enough to read the first. After that, I’m hoping it will take care of itself.

Anyways, — I just sent her an e-mail with this info. I wonder what she’ll think.

I love historical novels, guys, what can I say, Diana Gabaldon is a pretty good storyteller whether she gets it wrong or right. I am not a rabid fangirl of Gabaldon so no it’s not heresy. I like the Lord John Grey books myself and:

JMC, Lord John and the Succubus was pretty damn good. You should definately check that one out at the library. I bought the anthology when B&N had the hardcover on sale for $4.99. It also has stories from Robin Hobb as well, too, if you enjoy fantasy.

I guess it is heresy!!!

Of the Lord John books/novellas I like Lord John and the Succubus best. The Private Matter did nothing for me!

I read Lord John and the Private Matter and enjoyed it a great deal — I didn’t realize that there were two other novellas about him. I’ll probably look for them at the library. For me, Outlander alone was enough of Jamie and Claire. I have felt no urge to pick up other books about them, and felt like their story ended there pretty neatly. [Actually, I read Lord John before Outlander and thought it was the better book of the two. Is that heresy to Gabaldon fans?]
