I had a WTF moment and wanted to share. Sorry. Just what is UP with the cover changes these days? I had to look at that cover twice to realize that it’s supposed to be Heaven, Texas. And do you remember the new cover for Kiss an Angel?

That cover looks like it is more in line with the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. What audience are they trying to entice with these types of covers, pray tell? Honestly, I wouldn’t have bought Kiss An Angel with that cover. Ok, I would have have been reluctant. I prize my older books even more now because of the covers. Anyway, back to my book (s).

Daniela — I enjoyed Kiss an Angel, it’s one of my favorites by SEP. Reader response is varied as many didn’t like the hero. I hate dominating men too but the hero in here worked for me and the story is sexy and funny.
I hope you read it and tell us how you like it. One day.
Gosh…I’ve never read this author and the covers would most def keep me away from her; I thought one of them was the cover of PRINCESS DIARIES. I would purchase that for my 16 year old sister, not for myself. Guess this publishing company is going to another extreme…the tame sexless innocent princess kind (unlike some of Avon’s sluttified covers). What were they thinking?
Although…now I’m so curious about KISS AN ANGEL…
I kinda like the new cover for Heaven, TX too but I don’t remember the heroine being the kick-ass jeans wearing type of chick. It kinda makes her look tough. I honestly don’t remember Kiss an Angel–have to check when I get home
I can’t remember what the previous covers look like but I don’t like the new covers for the very same reason that you don’t: They don’t match the story.
Exactly, the covers are totally unrelated to the story.
Match Me If You Can Had a similar cover over here in England, to Kiss An Angel. I liked it actually, although it was totally unrelated to the story itself.
I totally agree! Of course, in my more conspiratorial moments, I start thinking that it is all part of the publishers (and I tend to lump them all together) grand plan to get me to buy the same book OVER AND OVER. I kept getting bit by this when Nora’s books were being re-released in the 90’s and I swore from that point I would look at the copywright date.
I actually kinda like the Heave, Texas cover.
