I really don’t know what I was smoking to have bought this book when the buzz surrounding it’s release was not good. However, I like to read things for myself and make up my own mind. Yes, readers can think for themselves. I thought: how bad can this book be, I wonder?

Dennis Lehane's next published novel is a major publishing event. It's been 4 years since Lehane's last book, Shutter Island. On Dennis Lehane's website, there's more info about The Given Day that you can read there.
This is a historical novel. A historical epic that is somewhat of a departure for Lehane. The release date for The Given Day is Sept. 23. Look for a review.
