2006 Stats/Info

by Avid Reader on January 10, 2007

Since blogging about your stats is the cool thing to do, I thought I’d join in with my stats. I’m not promising that they are meaningful to anybody but this is just to give you an idea of my reading of last year:

  • Number of books read: Don’t have a f. clue. I didn’t keep up this year. It might be around the 30 book range. I’m just not a fast reader.
  • Best New Author: Sarah Monette (fantasy)
  • Best Book Read: Actually two books, The Melusine and The Virtu by Monette
  • Worst Book Read: Working for the Devil by Lilith Saintcrow (actually, it’s a DNF)
  • Most Over-hyped Book Read: Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
  • Best New Ebook Author: Shelby Reed who writes for Ellora’s Cave
  • Last book You’d Ever Wanted to See Reprinted: Sarah’s Child by Linda Howard
  • Books You’d like to see reprinted: Dance and Bliss by Judith Ivory
  • Best New Discovery: My ebook reading device and ebooks period. Thanks Jane.

*Notable mention for Anya Bast for Ellora’s Cave as I enjoy her books, too

I just don’t understand why they would skip over those two to reprint her first book. Curious.

Oh, Yay, another slow ass reader like me. We’re the only ttwo I guess.

Books You’d like to see reprinted: Dance and Bliss by Judith Ivory

From your mouth to some publishers ears!!

Oh, thank goodness I’m not the only slow reader around. Then again, you read fantasy so aren’t they pretty thick in page counts?

All I know is I want to read more books this year than last - with my pathetic 21 I should do well ;) CindyS

I absolutely hated Sarah’s Child and to see it in trade paperback? Ugh. Hated that book.

I was also surprised to see Sarah’s Child not only reprinted but in a trade size…did I miss something? This is the last Linda Howard book I’d recommend to someone whose never read her before.
