US Exclusivity of Cruise Unauthorized Biography Creates Market Overseas
St. Martin’s Press will not allow distribution of the unauthorized Tom Cruise biography by Andrew Morton outside the US, namely, Australia. This has created a supply/demand issue outside the US, giving sellers on eBay an advantage to sell the book three times the original cost (US $26). The publisher has appealed to eBay to not sell the book but last I checked, there were 30 books for sell on ebay selling for $40. Is this censorship? To exclude other countries? The book does make some powerful claims against Scientology who has in turn, threatened the publisher/author with a lawsuit.
