This article hits home for me because I’ve been burned more than once with books with similar sounding titles only to discover it’s not the book that I wanted to read. The article lists only a few of the same titles by different authors but the fact is that you cannot copyright titles (or so I’m told). In the romance genre, you see a lot of the same titles and if I felt like it, I could probably list you ten. All this talk about plagiarism lately, what about authors who use the same titles? Some of the title picks are purposeful. I know authors look for every advantage that they can find including being shelved next to Nora Roberts but still, have you ever been duped by a similar title, similar sounding book? Is it that difficult to come up with an original title?
