People may gripe about the cosmetic appearance of the Kindle. Even scoff at the “big brother” type of tactics that the gadget imposes on it’s readership. It’s no surprise, really, that the Kindle has helped the ebook market. Now if only they would create one format and destroy DRM - watch the ebook market really explode. Just sayin.

I actually held one of these and then played with it, the Sony and Bookeen. All were good…Kindle isn’t as ugly as it is in pictures although no where near as sleak as the Sony. If the whispernet ever went worldnwide, then I might actually look at buying one of these. The idea of sitting on the beach in Goa and needing a fresh read then being able to buy it without shifting from my towel…well, that would be worth quite a bit
Until then, I’ll stick with my Pocket PC with it’s full 2GB card full of ebooks :-)

I’m content with my Pocket PC too with it’s 2GB card. I’ve had it it for two or three years now and that isn’t even half-way full yet.
That would be cool to have a device that has International connectivity to where you can purchase a ebook no matter where you are in the world. I have high hopes for the future of ebook devices do just that.
