TBR Day This Wednesday With One More Left To Go
This November 19th is our TBR Day Challenge Day where readers pick a book(s) from their TBR pile with copyright dates of 2007 and earlier to read and review on the third Wednesday of every month. With just one more month to go, I’m sure we’ll have a 100% participation, won’t we?
Those readers who didn’t miss a month from the start of the challenge in March 2008 are eligible for $100 Amazon gift card, an incentive to encourage readers to participate in the monthly challenge. Next year, I plan to continue the challenge and will post the calendar soon. My question for those who want to continue to participate, should we change the rules to allow 2008 titles for next year? Should we change the day? Give me some feedback in the comments below.
ETA on 11/18/08: Since no one has any comments, I’ll follow the same format for next year’s challenge with the same rules. Participation is voluntary as per usual. More on that later.

Hey — just seen your post. Not fussed over copyright date staying at 2007 (that gives me added incentives to tackle the books I wimped out on this year) and third Wed works for me

Hi Phyl, I had to recover your comment. My spam filter seems to like you a lot because it’s not the first time I’ve seen it there. Sorry! I plan to keep the format the same. I won’t ask for volunteers or keep a list like I did with this year’s challenge. I have a feeling that the participation will be low for next year.
I know I’d really like to read my older romances — especially those defunct Second Chance At Love series I bought a long time ago by authors Jeanne Grant and Courtney Ryan.
I like to read the new stuff like everybody else but I’ve collected (I think) some really good reads from over the yeas and I’d like to read them and every 3rd Wednesday works for me too.

Heh! I was waiting to see if someone else left a comment before I spoke up. Then I got sidetracked. Sorry! Anyhow, I’ve really liked being forced to go back through the stuff I bought [what seems like] ages ago to pick out something to read for TBR day. I personally tried for stuff that was at least 12 months old. Truth is, I rarely end up reading a book the minute I buy it, so everything goes into the TBR pile. The latest Karen Ranney is still waiting for me, and I absolutely adore her books. So if you want to change the date to 2007, that’s fine by me.
As far as which day is TBR Day, the 3rd Wednesday works as well as any. Oddly, I prefer a weekday to a weekend. Probably because the rest of the family goes to bed earlier and I can stay up late and blog.
