Absurd Book Deals
What is in the air lately that it seems as if every Tom, Dick and Harry with a hint of controversy or 15 minutes of fame, seem to be announcing that they’ve signed a new book deal. I just had to throw up my hands in exasperation when I read that ex-Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich, is going to write about about “the dark side” of politics. Heh. He should be an authority on the subject since he was recently impeached for alleged criminal activity while in public office. Does anyone care to read about these people’s lives? There must be an audience out there for this stuff because everyday it seems that someone is signing a book deal. I’m just waiting for Joe the Plumber to announce that he is writing down his thoughts in a memoir one day. Oh, wait, he already has a new book out, titled what else? Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream and his fifteen minutes of fame…14:99..just ran out.

You’re right but I’m hoping that his fifteen minutes has already expired by the time his book gets released, just like Joe the Plummer.

The problem is, all the major tv stations will talk about it, thus helping him sell millions of copies. Happens every time.
