Dennis Lehane's next published novel is a major publishing event.

It's been 4 years since Lehane's last book, Shutter Island. On Dennis Lehane's website, there's more info about The Given Day that you can read there.

This is a historical novel. A historical epic that is somewhat of a departure for Lehane. The release date for The Given Day is Sept. 23. Look for a review.

The Serpent's Tale by Ariana Franklin (historical fiction with a dash of romance) and is the second book in the Adelia Aguilar series.

The Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner (excellent YA fantasy historical novels featuring Eugenides).

Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs (urban fantasy featuring mechanic Mercedes Thompson) is the third book in the series.
